WEST VALLEY -- A crashed computer system caused long lines at the Driver License Division in West Valley City.
"It's been a madhouse. There's a line from here out around the corner standing in the rain [since] first thing at seven," said Merle Gongaware, who waited for hours at the DMV branch at 2780 W. 4700 South.
The downed computers compounded already long lines caused by a new law requiring residents to provide birth certificates to get or renew a driver license.
No word yet on what caused the computer system to go down.
