Brussels (dpa) - Belgian jazz pianist and arranger Francy Boland has died at age 75 at his home in Switzerland, the Belgian news agency Belga reported overnight Friday.
The high point of Boland's career was a big band that he led in the 1960s and '70s with American drummer Kenny Clarke.
He also worked as a songwriter and arranger for more famous jazz names including Count Basie. Boland also worked with pop singer Gitte Haenning, whose 1969 jazz album actually broadened her popularity.
The time of Boland's death was not immediately reported.
