(KSL News) They're singing the praises of a woman they call a singing angel at Northwest Middle School in Rose Park.
A school secretary plays numerous roles, including that of parent, teacher, counselor, nurse and cheerleader. And in the case of Janet Clifford, she's also a singer. All add up for a well-deserved High 5!
Cherrie Brinlee, principal of Northwest Middle School: "One of the reasons you were nominated is that you are so dedicated to our students. Every day I see you work with our young people. They come in with injuries, headaches, they're not feeling well, and you're so kind to them. I see how you work with our office assistants every day, trying to make them the best that they can be. I see you work with the staff. You try to support them in any way you possibly can. You're a straight shooter, and that is so unusual in today's society.
"And, she's got a beautiful voice. She sings the national anthem for us every Monday."
Janet Clifford, secretary at Northwest Middle School: "I love working here at Northwest. I love the students. We have the most wonderful teachers. I have a wonderful office staff to work with. I don't speak Spanish, but we're trying. We have many languages here. But every child's important."
