(KSL News) A missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been charged with the aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

The man is accused of groping a 12-year-old boy back in December while serving in the Holladay area.

According to court documents obtained by the Deseret Morning News, the boy and his mother went to the missionary's home to deliver a present. When the missionary gave the boy a hug, the boy told police the missionary reached down his pants and touched him inappropriately. A $50,000 warrant has been issued for the man's arrest.

No comment yet from Church officials.
