TAYLORSVILLE -- Three men robbed a Taylorsville convenience store, but a police officer just happened to be nearby.

Taylorsville police say the robbers entered the Circle K at 4216 S. Redwood Rd., threatened the clerk, and then ran off with a case of beer.

An officer happened to see them leave and chased them.

Sgt. Rod Lowry of the Taylorsville Police Department explained, "They ran from him, got up the street a ways from the store. Both males challenged him. A Taser was deployed."

When the Taser didn't stop the suspects, the officer called for backup. Several agencies responded, including a K-9 unit.

Police arrested two men. A third suspect remains at large.
