Crime Specialist Karen Scullin reporting
New court documents reveal that the young woman who was murdered before her body was burned earlier this month apparently died from blunt trauma to the throat.
Investigators say Kellie Nelson was murdered by Sally Krivanek on December 1.
Krivanek has been charged with murder and desecration of a body.
Investigators say this phone was the first to be used by a woman who told detectives she knew a lot about the murder.
That woman gave the name "Chantel," and indicated the killer was a man named "Jose Perez." But members of law enforcement say they later learned "Chantel" was actually Sally Krivanek, and that so far, Jose Perez doesn't exist.
A preliminary report indicates Sally Krivanek allegedly killed 23-year-old Kellie Nelson with blunt trauma to the throat, but it's not clear how the trauma was inflicted.
It looks like a stun gun may have had some part in the plot after a police search of the home turned up a "taser" instruction pamphlet.
Some other items gathered from Sally Krivanek's home and car: blood stained pants, bloody tissues and shoes with tred similar to a footprint found near the victim. Also, cardboard and tape found inside Krivanek's home appears to match cardboard and tape found on Nelson's clothing.
And finally, an interesting e-mail from Sally Krivanek to Kevin Wolters. Wolters was the victim's boyfriend and the suspect's ex-boyfriend.
Investigators say the e-mail talked about ways for Wolters to handle insurance items dealing with a pregnancy, and ways to have paternity tests conducted.
Wolters reportedly indicated to investigators that he told Krivanek that Nelson was pregnant.
But members of law enforcement have confirmed that Kellie Nelson was NOT pregnant.
There is some confusion on eyewitness reports of vehicles seen at the fire. Some witnesses report seeing a white sedan. One reports a white van. Krivanek owns a grey sedan and rented a white U-Haul van. Both are in police evidence.
Krivanek's next court appearance is Monday.
