(Lehi-AP) -- Police say a 31-year-old pregnant woman who claimed she was stabbed yesterday made up the story.
Lehi Police Sergeant Jeff Swenson says Amy Brown stabbed herself.
She confessed during an interview early this afternoon.
Twenty to 25 officers from Lehi, American Fork and the Utah County Sheriff's office responded to the attempted homicide investigation.
Yesterday, Brown told police she answered a knock at her door early in the morning. A man, dressed as either a police officer or a security guard, stabbed her in the stomach and then ran away.
In truth, Brown stabbed herself once. Swenson says Brown and her baby are OK.
He also says no charges would be filed for her false report because Brown has obvious problems and promised to get help.
