(Salt Lake City, KSL News) -- What appears to be a random shooting in West Valley City sent three people to the hospital.
Police say just after midnight on Saturday a man started shooting into an apartment through a sliding glass door.
Millie Herrera and her husband Ruben were in the kitchen when the bullets started flying. Both were hit, along with a neighbor.
"The neighbor came from next door to ask for the phone to call the cops to tell them there was a suspicious guy out here and I guess the guy must have followed him through the glass door. My son just spotted him and he started shooting in and they all started diving towards the front," says Cecilia Garcia, the victim's mother.
K-9 units and a police helicopter searched the neighborhood for the shooter with no luck. All three victims are expected to be OK.
