(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Salt Lake City police didn't have to go very far to arrest two suspects in a sex-solicitation case. The men, who allegedly used the Internet to arrange sexual rendezvous with undercover officers they thought were children, agreed to meet their victims right across the street from the police station.
Undercover investigators wanted to see just how bold the suspects would be.
The agents pose as children in Internet chat rooms. And they say there's no lack of men who try to arrange illegal sexual encounters with kids. The officers say they had hoped that undercover police patrolling the chat rooms would scare away the sexual predators -- but that doesn't seem to have happened yet.
