(Salt Lake City-- KSL TV) Police officers swarmed a West Valley City salvage yard late last night where they found fireams, drugs and stolen cars.
For the past two and a half months police have been investigating the salvage yard at 5600 West and 2300 South for auto part thefts and drug distribution.
Police were about to go serve Tim Coles with a search warrant, but were called in earlier when a civil argument erupted between an employee and a customer trying to retrieve his vehicle.
At that time police served the warrant and began their investigation.
A police officer says, "During the investigation we recovered four stolen vehicles, and several vehicles that have removed VIN numbers."
Police searched a massive amount of cars and are determing whether parts were stolen off vehicles impounded at the site or if cars were stolen brought in and then dismantled for their parts.
So far they've found illegal drugs and firearms in some of the vehicles.
Owner Tim Coles is now in custody and his business license has been stripped. Two others have also been arrested on drug related charges.
