(Salt Lake City, KSL News) -- A 9-year-old girl was killed last night in an auto-pedestrian accident in Box Elder County.
The accident occurred shortly after sunset on SR 102 just past mile marker 9.
Police say that a lack of lights on the highway and the fact that the girl was wearing dark clothing may have been factors in the accident.
The child was transported to Primary Children's Hospital where she died from her injuries.
The driver and passenger in the car were not injured.
