TOOELE, Utah (AP) -- A Virginia-based credit union has purchased HeritageWest Federal Credit Union of Tooele.
Chartway Federal Credit Union's purchase was announced Thursday as HeritageWest was liquidated by the National Credit Union Administration.
The administration said HeritageWest was closed due to its declining financial condition.
When it closed, HeritageWest had $311 million in assets and 40,000 members.
Officials said in a statement that customers would see no interruption in service and will have full access to Chartway's financial services.
Chartway has $1.2 billion in assets, about 154,000 members, 52 branches and nearly 4,000 shared service locations throughout the United States.
