(Tooele-AP) -- The mayor of Tooele can breathe easier today. The county attorney's office has cleared Mayor Charlie Roberts of any criminal acts in connection with his expense reports.
An audit ordered by the City Council suggested thousands of dollars worth of expense claims lacked receipts or explanations.
But County Attorney Douglas Ahlstrom says the sheriff has investigated, and there is NO evidence to support charges against the mayor.
Roberts has maintained all along that he's got the paperwork to justify the expenses.
