(KSL News) A local chapter of the Red Cross says it is in dire financial need.
The Provo-based Mountainland Chapter has responded to 13 disasters already this year, all of them house fires, which led to a $13,000 deficit in January.
At that rate, the chapter can only stay open for another month or two at the longest. They say donations are way down due to more high-profile disasters, like Hurricane Katrina.
They are now asking the community for help and plan to hold a 5K fundraiser in March.
