(Salt Lake City, KSL News) -- A major accident at the mouth of Parleys Canyon has shut down Interstate 80 in both directions.
A semi coming down I-80 missed the turn and rolled onto its side, knocking out the concrete median barriers and spilling its load of soap all over the road.
As a result, I-80 is shut down in both directions at the mouth of the canyon, however traffic is able to get around the accident on nearby ramps to Foothill Boulevard and I-215.
Troopers say it will be several hours before this mess can be cleaned up and everything is back to normal.
Ironically, this is almost the same spot another semi rolled and shut down the freeway on January 3 this year.
