(North Logan-AP) -- The city of North Logan is considering a name change to better distinguish itself from its bigger neighbor to the south.

While the current name does a pretty good job of describing where the city is, North Logan's economic development committee thinks a new name could have financial benefits for the city and clear up confusion that results when some people consider North Logan and Logan to be parts of the same town.

The idea is just getting off the ground with the city's Planning Commission, and no new name has been decided upon. North Logan City Councilman Lloyd Berentzen says there would be public hearings before any name change takes place.
