(Salt Lake City-AP) -- When Eugene Delgado's mother called the police on him, the Salt Lake County man allegedly got on the phone and told officers they'd better bring their weapons.
They did, and one sheriff's deputy shot Delgado in the stomach after he reportedly took away her night stick.
Delgado has now been charged with three counts of felony assault. The deputy is on administrative leave while the shooting is investigated. The trouble happened last week.
