(KSL News) -- A young man from Kaysville serving as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints was killed in South America yesterday.

Elder Nathan Scott Godfrey died in the town of Gualeguaychu(GOO AH LE GOO AI CHOO), Argentina.

Following an intense rain storm--Elder Godfrey was attempting to save a 13-year-old boy who had fallen into a deep puddle.

A fallen power line made contact with the water--and both the boy and the missionary were electrocuted--and died at the scene.

Funeral arrangements for Elder Godfrey are pending.
