(Ogden-AP) -- Jose Lopez has been charged with first-degree felony homicide in the shooting death Saturday night of an Ogden man.

During his arraignment yesterday, Lopez said he did not remember his birth date. Police believe he is 45 years old.

Police Sergeant Doug Lucero said a physical and verbal altercation occurred before 46-year-old Serefin Conde was shot in the head while visiting Lopez at a small home rented to at least a dozen people.

According to a probable cause statement, Lopez had the suspected murder weapon on him when he was caught and he confessed to the shooting.
