(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Representative Marty Stephens has announced he will not seek another term as speaker of the House, but he remains mum on whether he will run for governor.
The Farr West Republican says there has never been a three-term speaker, and he thinks it would be good to have some turnove.
Stephens said he may announce his political plans later this spring or early this summer.
Stephens in 2000 briefly considered challenging Governor Mike Leavitt but decided against it.
Leavitt said yesterdayday that he will announce late this summer or early fall whether he will seek another term.
