Heavenly Delights Bakery in Midvale, trying to raise a lot of "dough" to help those left financially strapped by war call-ups.
They'll donate 25-percent of all sales -- of any goodies -- go into a United Way fund.
It'll be distributed to families that need a little extra help while loved-ones are off fighting in the Middle East.
The owner says she had to do something after seeing children at a recent pet-adoption, crying because they couldn't afford to keep their pet with dad at war.¤3 ]]
Lea Lyons/Heavenly Delights Bakery: "IT JUST RIPPED OUT MY HEART ... THEY HAD TO GIVE UP THEIR PET -- IT'S BAD ENOUGH THEY HAVE TO GIVE UP A FAMILY MEMBER, BECAUSE THE COUNTRY NEEDS THEM TO GO DO WHAT THEY HAVE TO DO -- BUT TO GIVE UP THEIR PET..."
So, she decided to do something to help out by donating a-fourth of all sales until next Friday.
The United Way says they'll give out the money after reviewing applications from families that need it.
It can be used to help pay bills, for food, daycare costs -- and even buy food for the family pet while mom or dad are off at war.
