Two Snowmobile Riders Missing Overnight Found Safe

Greg Neft, KSL NewsradioTwo snowmobile riders lost overnight in rural Summit County have been found safe.

Summit Dispatch was contacted late last night that Bruce Christy and Richard Gill were lost in the Lyman Lake area of Summit County. The men were in contact with their family as well as command throughout the search.

The two were found this morning in a very remote location near the Bear River Service Area around 11 a.m. this morning and appear to be in good condition.

Sheriff Dave Edmunds: "Rugged country that's at the 10,000-foot-plus level, so it's up there and in some significantly rugged terrain."

But Sheriff Dave Edmunds says it probably wasn't an accident they survived the cold night.

Sheriff Dave Edmunds: "They were dressed appropriately...They had the appropriate boots and gloves and all of those items."

Edmunds says it appears the snowmobiles simply broke down.
