(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Questar is requesting a 25 percent increase in its Utah natural gas rates. That would raise the typical monthly bill by about $14.25 on July first.
The request needs to be approved by the Utah Public Service Commission. Questar typically asks for P-S-C approval twice yearly to adjust rates.
The company says about two-thirds of a customer's bill reflects the cost of the gas itself. The other third is non-gas costs such as system maintenance.
