TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Jaycee Carroll scored 25 points and had eight rebounds as he sparked a Utah State comeback for a 71-65 victory over Oral Roberts on Saturday night.
Carroll was 9-of-16 from the field and 6-of-8 on free throws. Durrall Peterson added 11 points and seven rebounds for the Aggies (20-7), who rallied after trailing 22-4 early in the game.
Caleb Green had 21 points and nine rebounds to pace the Golden Eagles (19-9), who led 31-28 at halftime. Ken Tutt added 16 points and Shawn King had 11 rebounds for ORU, which had been 13-1 since Dec. 30.
Carroll gave Utah State its first lead, 35-33, on a layup with 18:20 remaining. After a King basket tied the game, consecutive baskets by Stephen Ducharme gave the Aggies a 39-35 lead they never relinquished.
Adam Liberty sank a trey to cut the ORU deficit to 44-42. Utah State answered with baskets by Chaz Spicer and Carroll, and ORU never got closer than four points during the rest of the game.
ORU came within 56-51 with 4:50 left before baskets by Carroll and Arvydas Vaitiekus sealed the Aggies' fifth straight win.
Utah State shot 53 percent from the field compared to 40 percent for the Golden Eagles.
ORU scored the first 14 points of the game. Nine of those were by Green, whose trey capped the run with 15:17 left in the first half.
The Golden Eagles built their lead to 22-4 on a Moses Ehambe 3-pointer before Utah State reeled off seven straight points.
