(KSL TV) A fire at a West Valley City mini-mall caused damage to a butcher shop.

The blaze broke out shortly before 3 o'clock this morning at 1787 W. 7000 South.

Passerbys seeing smoke coming out of the building called fire crews, who found that the fan on the store's cooler had caught fire.

They were able to quickly extinguish the fire -- but not before smoke damage had been done to the business.

The businesses on either side were not affected.
