(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Park officials at Lake Powell have decided that Jet Skis and other personal watercraft should be allowed to ride throughout the huge reservoir on the Utah-Arizona line.
While allowing personal watercraft, the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area officially adopted the option that allows for certain sensitive areas to be closed, and requires that all craft must meet emission requirements by 2012.
Sean Smith works for Bluewater Network, the San Francisco-based environmental organization that is seeking to end use of personal watercraft within national parks. He says this decision is ripe for legal review.
