OREM, Utah (AP) -- A Lehi man, the holder of a concealed-weapons permit, was arrested by Orem police for allegedly brandishing a gun at another motorist following a near-collision.
Brad L. Smoot, 29, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of using a dangerous weapon in a fight or quarrel, a class-A misdemeanor.
Police Lt. Doug Edwards said both drivers made turns onto 800 North at the same time from different directions.
The other driver honked at Smoot, who then allegedly brandished his handgun, Edwards said.
Officers stopped Smoot's vehicle and took him out of his vehicle at gunpoint. They found the loaded handgun in Smoot's waistband, Edwards said.
