Sam Penrod reportingSeveral acres of brush are burning in an area just west of Camp Williams. The fire started from sparks from a welder working on a repelling tower used for training at Camp Williams. The fire is right on the Salt Lake and Utah County line, west of Camp Williams. The fire is being fanned by high winds, causing it to be spread quickly.

Fire departments from Utah and Salt Lake county are on the scene, fighting the blaze. Officials are expecting aerial support as well. Camp Williams has been using bulldozers to create fire breaks.
Firefighters have been advised to stay on existing dirt roads, due to concern that there are unexploded military ordinances in the area.
At this time, officials say no structures are threatened.
