(Provo-AP) -- Paul William Turner is scheduled to be sentenced today -- for trying three times to poison his pregnant wife.

The 26-year-old Turner pleaded guilty March 28th to attempted criminal homicide. Turner told Provo police that he no longer wanted to be married to his wife, Sarah, because she did not approve of his use of pornography. The woman divorced him in April and has custody of their one-year-old daughter.

Charges state that he used cookies laced with rat poison, spaghetti sauce infused with what he thought were poison mushrooms and fish tank cleaner in place of her injection medication in the effort to kill her.

All those efforts failed. The woman was unharmed and the child was born healthy.
