Stacey Butler ReportingStockton and Malone have been synonymous with the Jazz for as long as many Utahns can remember. But whether you're an avid Jazz fan or not Karl Malone is one Utah resident who everyone seems to feel like they know personally. And so is the feeling of personal loss and support for the Mailman's move to the City of Angels.

It's a long way from John Stockton Boulevard, LA. the city of dreams and a basketball team of superstars.

Darci Dudley: "I think he'll like it there, it’s a bit more his vibe."

Tim Bickmore: "It'll be a change for him because it's really crowded over there; here it's a lot different."

Utah Jazz fans say for Karl Malone, playing with the Lakers is a slam dunk.

Tyler Llewelyn: ”I think its good for Karl. He gets to go to a city he wants to play for the money like

Stephanie Gill: “I think it’s good for him, if he wants to move on, that's up to him."

Anthony Waldron: “I think he should do what he wants to do and try to win."

But after nearly two decades in Utah fans say it will be hard to get used to seeing the Mailman playing in another zip code.

Julie Grose: “I think he's going to a good team, but he'll definitely be missed, he's always just been a part of Utah."

Kellie Waldron: "He wants to win a championship, I'm all for it. I mean it's a bummer because we all love Karl."

Michael Brown: “I don't know what all of his people, all of his friends are going to do without him."

Somehow he'll manage, pay cut and all, for even one shot at a title.

Eric Olsen: "He's really never been big Utah, he's always talked about moving other places, he's been rumored to go other places and he's finally done it."

Yes he has. Now fans will be watching closely this fall to see how the Jazz recoup after losing their two franchise players.
