Samantha Hayes reporting Up in the High Uintas today, at Crystal Lake, family members of Lisa Goff gathered to remember her and her husband, Rick...who were killed by lightning

Family members say Rick and Lisa loved to spend their free time outdoors- with their kids in tow a weekend in the mountains was a favorite getaway. For many, today was their first visit to the place that Rick and Lisa loved to much.

It was like this on Saturday, the sound of rain falling on Crystal lake as a thunder rumbles in the background.

LARRYJENKINS/LISA'S BROTHER: "I JUST PICTURE THIS DAY BEING A LOT LIKE THAT DAY..REAL PEACEFUL...A STORM ROLLED IN FROM THE EYEWITNESSES WE TALKED TO..I JUST THINK IT WAS MEANT TO BE."

Not far from the lake, family members huddle together- from there they can see the place where Rick, Lisa, and their 3 children were sitting.

LARRYJENKINS/LISA'S BROTHER: "ITS A PEACEFUL PLACE..THE GROUND THERE IS REALLY DRY..RICK WAS AN OUTDOORS MAN AND HE RESPECTED NATURE AND LIGHTNING AND I BELIEVE HE FELT CALM AND AT PEACE WHERE HE WAS AND HE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN THERE IF HE FELT UNSAFE WITH HIS FAMILY."

They were in lawn chairs with the children close by. Lightning struck the tree they were under..killing Rick and Lisa and burning one of the children.

DEBI JENKINS/LISA'S SISTER: "DAKOTA, AGE 9 HAS TO WEAR SPECIAL SUNGLASSES FOR THE LIGHTNING THAT BURNT HIS EYES HE HAS BEEN BURNT DOWN HIS BACK AND FOOT. "

Talking about what happened that night is hard right now for anyone in the family..especially when the two youngest children ask questions.

DEBI JENKINS/LISA'S SISTER: "I SAT WITH HER ON THE COUCH..SHE SAYS " I WANT MY MOMMY AND I SAT DOWN WITH HER AND WE LOOKED THROUGH FAMILY PHOTOS AND SHE SAYS THERE'S MY MOMMY, THERE'S MY DADDY...AND IT WAS JUST A FUN GAME MCKENZIE PLAYED AND SHE SEEMS WELL ADJUSTED RIGHT NOW."

Debi is planning to make a memory book of Lisa and Rick. She says she will give it to their children when they get older so they will have memories and stories and pictures of their parents.

There is a trust fund set up for the children at Zions bank.
