SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- The husband of a Salt Lake City newspaper reporter found dead in her home on July 2 has been charged with auto theft and leaving the scene of an accident on July 4.
A warrant for John Patrick Harrison, 42, was issued by 3rd District Court on Wednesday.
Harrison allegedly ran a red light in a stolen car, collided with another car and fled.
Police are investigating the death of Harrison's wife, Norma Wagner, 41, who detectives say fell down a staircase following a domestic dispute.
Wagner worked for the Deseret Morning News and was a former reporter for The Salt Lake Tribune.
Harrison had been arrested for a violation of his probation on a drug conviction and bailed out of jail June 26. He also had been arrested for domestic violence in Florida, according to a search warrant.
