(Whitehorse, Yukon-AP) -- Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the Yukon Territory have not been able to locate family of a Utah man killed last month at a Whitehorse bus stop.
Austin Avelar Avrit once lived in Salt Lake City. He died July 22nd when he was struck by an out-of-control car as he sat on a bus bench near the territory highways transportation yard.
The RCMP released Avrit's name yesterday. They could not find members of Avrit's family in Utah, even with help from the American consulate.
Police told the Whitehorse Star they had evidence that Avrit had traveled in Utah, Texas and Florida before reaching the Yukon Territory.
No charges have been filed in the fatality.
Anyone with information on Avrit is asked to call the Yukon Coroner's Office, (867)667-to-5317.
