(Ogden-AP) -- A 21-year-old father has been convicted on first-degree felony murder for squeezing to death his infant son.

Patrick Tilt, of Ogden, killed his five-month-old son, Andrew David Tilt, on July 24th, 2002.

Jurors deliberated about three hours yesterday, rejecting lesser potential verdicts of manslaughter, reckless and negligent child abuse homicide, and negligent homicide.

Tilt faces a mandatory five-year-to-life prison term when he is sentenced September 16th by second District Judge Scott Hadley.

During a three-day trial, prosecutors focused on Tilt's confession to police, in which he described squeezing the life out of the child, then sleeping next to the body for four hours.
