(Salt Lake City-AP) -- Salt Lake police are trying to figure out how a 22-month-old baby boy was exposed to methamphetamine.

The boy's grandmother brought him to Primary Children's Medical Center yesterday. The woman had been baby-sitting her grandson -- and couldn't get him to settle down and go to sleep.

Tests at the hospital proved the child had methamphetamine in his system. The woman reportedly told police that her daughter -- the child's mother -- had been acting strangely that day.

Police now want to talk to the mother to see how the child could have ingested the powerful stimulant drug.

Police didn't release any names.
