(KSL News) A head-on collision Monday night on I-15 in Ogden shut down traffic in both directions.
The Utah Highway Patrol says a car crossed the median near the 31st Street exit, and hit a semi-truck head on.
The semi jack-knifed, causing about five other cars to crash.
Sparks from the crashes ignited a grass fire which melted parts of the freeway.
The driver of the first car was flown to the hospital with serious injuries.
The semi-truck driver suffered burns to his arm.
