(KSL News) -- A sad day for Karl Malone. His mother, affectionately known as "Miss Shirley" passed away yesterday of an apparent heart attack.
Karl left the USA basketball team this morning to join his family in Arkansas. The USA team is preparing for the Olympic qualifying tournament, but there's no word on whether Karl will rejoin his teammates.
