A South Jordan family is homeless this morning after a fire ripped through their home last night.
The blaze broke out shortly after seven in the attatched garage of the home near 9900 S. 1300 W. The exact cause is still under investigation, but crews say the fire spread quickly.
Phil Harris, South Jordan Fire Dept.: "Because the fire was out of the attic...from the outside."
The residents were home at the time and managed to get out safely.
However, there is some question over the response time of fire crews. Apparently two different Salt Lake County fire crews were dispatched to the same south address, but at different sides of the valley. Officials are going to look into it and see if it slowed their arrival.
