(KSL News) -- Candidate for Salt Lake City mayor, Frank Pignanelli received endorsements today from both the African-American and Hispanic Democratic Caucuses.
Representatives from the groups say they picked Pignanelli because they believe he will push economic development and inclusion for their communities.
Michael Styles, Chairman of African-American Democratic Caucus: "Our definition of diversity is economic inclusiveness and we feel that Frank Pignanelli has committed to that and we look forward to working with him."
James Yapias, Chairman of Hispanic Democratic Caucus: The mayor's cabinet needs to reflect the community. And in doing so, we believe that Frank will be addressing that issue."
Pignanelli says he will work closely with both groups to better minority businesses.
