(KSL News) -- Utah's Lieutenant Governor is in the former Soviet republic of Kyrgyzstan.
Olene Walker met today with the country's foreign minister and signed an agreement to expand ties between Utah and Kyrgyzstan.
Walker says the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints can bring more humanitarian aid to the area. And the foreign minister says the church's strong family values would be beneficial.
Walker hopes the meetings will boost humanitarian aid and student exchange programs with the country.
