(KSL News) The Cougars had a hard time getting their feet under them in last night's game against Georgia Tech.

But once they did they were off and running.

At halftime the Cougs were down 13 to 7, after a series of penalties in the first half. But the second half was different.

In the third quarter the team came back with a touchdown.

Then in the fourth, a pass from Matt Berry to freshman Dan Coates gave them a lock on the win.

BYU wins it 24-13 -- giving head coach Gary Crowton a 3 and 0 record for home openers.

Utah v. USU

What a night for the runnin' Utes.

In their home opener, the men in red trounced the Aggies from Utah State.

All eyes were on first year coach Urban Meyer and his new wide open spread offense. Early in the game the Utes used the strategy to gain a seven point lead.

Then later in the game running back Brandon Warfield gets the ball and very stealthily heads toward the end zone.

Utah State tried to rally in the fourth, coming within eight of the Utes after a special teams blunder. But in the end Utah takes it 40 to 20.
