(KSL News) -- A Utah Vietnam veteran received some overdue recognition today. James Sargent of Salt Lake City was awarded his 2nd Purple Heart for injuries suffered during Vietnam.
Congressman Jim Matheson did the honors.
Up until now, there was confusion about the day Sargent was injured. But the record is now straight. Sargent was wounded twice on the same day in separate incidents, making the army veteran eligable for two purple hearts.
