(Draper-AP) -- Draper P.D. should keep doing their jobs. That's what the Draper Police Department spokesman says.
City administrators are refusing to consider a citizen's vote on whether or not to keep the two-month old police force.
12-hundred residents have signed a petition calling for the vote. The residents favor the Salt Lake County Sheriff's Department's protection over the new force.
The group says it will get an attorney and seek a legal remedy.
Sworn officers of the Draper Police force began patrolling the community of 29,000 July 1.
