(St. George-AP) -- A naked man is flushed from a cave by police using tear gas.

A man and a woman hiking in Pioneer Primitive Park told police they saw a spread-legged naked man in a small cave.

Officers couldn't get to him in the small space so they had to force him out with tear gas.

34-year old David Nicholas King was arrested and taken to the hospital to get the gas cleaned off.

Police say King has seven arrests in St. George since 2001 and one in Washington City.

He served a short stint in jail for lewdness last year after prosecutors said he fondled himself in a park.

King is charged this time with a misdemeanor that can carry a punishment of six-months in jail and a thousand dollar fine.

He's in jail on a five-thousand dollar cash-only bail.
