(St. George-AP) -- A heavy thunderstorm passed through the Zion National Park area on Tuesday. The rough weather caused temporary road closures, flash flooding and several small wildfires.
The thunderstorm passed through in the early evening and dropped three-quarters on an inch of rain and produced multiple lightning strikes.
Debris washing down from the hillsides along Highway Nine, west of Zion Tunnel, forced a two-hour closure of the road.
