(Salt Lake City-AP) -- The Jensens are running up against a deadline.

The family is in Idaho. Their lawyer has been negotiating with the state of Utah over the treatment for their 12-year old son's cancer.

Parker Jensen was ordered turned over to the state to receive chemotherapy but the Jensens defied the order and fled Utah.

Earlier reports say the family and the state struck a deal for Parker to be evaluated by another doctor and that they pledged to abide by whatever that doctor recommends.

But nothing's been finalized yet.

Today negotiations could wrap up at a four p-m hearing in the case at the Matheson Courthouse.

The couple was charged with kidnapping but their warrants have been suspended during negotiations.
