(KSL News) – The Utah job market is in step with the national economy.
The unemployment rate in Utah last month was down slightly, but companies are still cutting jobs. 62-thousand Utahns were unemployed last month. And those numbers are similar to nationwide statistics.
The country's jobless rate slipped to six-point-one percent in August.
But, companies still cut nearly 100-thousand jobs. The main reason, businesses can produce more with fewer workers.
