(Ogden-AP) -- Police are putting a snarl in gang activity in Ogden.
Ogden police made 75-percent more gang-related arrests between July 2002 and July 2003 than the previous fiscal year.
The numbers released yesterday at the Northern Utah Gang and Youth Violence Conference show documented gang members in the area increased by two hundred.
But crime has remained steady.
Police say arrest numbers are up because they're being more proactive in targeting gang activity.
Also, the gang unit has been working more with other agencies who deal with drug crimes to bust gang members involved with drugs.
