(Salt Lake City-AP) -- The Crossroads Plaza is now officially owned by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
The church's real estate arm made the announcement yesterday.
The acquisition clears the way for the church to begin redevelopment on the Plaza as well as the Z-C-M-I Center which they already own.
The church's president says this ensures their commitment to keeping Main Street vibrant.
A Michigan firm and Utah-based firm are heading the redevelopment plans which may include a pedestrian bridge to connect the two malls.
There's no word yet on when redevelopment might begin.
