SOUTH SALT LAKE -- A pedestrian who was hit by a car while he was jaywalking Monday evening has died.
Police say 48-year-old Brett Shanks of Salt Lake was walking across the street near the TRAX stop at 3300 South when he was hit. He died early Tuesday morning.
Police say the driver who hit Shanks will not be cited because it was dark at the time of the accident and Shanks was not in a crosswalk.
